Hello, I'm Cecilia.

ABOUT

This is me. Long before I ever heard the word neurodiverse.

Hi.

I'm Cecilia. This is me in second grade. I knew that there was something different about me then. I knew that my mind raced a million miles an hour at times and I was very impulsive. It wasn't showing on the outside, but my brain could be all over the place.

I was fairly bright in school, so that helped, I was the student who could daydream and create all sorts of new worlds.

The problem was, I was not in those worlds and I had to figure out how to "do school" and be "normal".

I spent my entire life trying to figure out how to be like everyone else. And I never did figure it out...

Fast forward a FEW decades... I worked as social worker in various capacities and in education as a first and second grade teacher (I had the emergency teaching certification in the early 2000s).

Somewhere along  the line I received psychological testing due to Covid brain fog. The test showed that I have severe inattentive ADHD!! There is the answer. I knew I wasn't broken-just different.

In talking with several people who have children who are neurodiverse and with parents who are neurodiverse themselves- a common thread began to appear. The students and their families need a program- someone who could assist them in navigating the educational sphere. The program will build a bridge and work witheducators also to assist with them being a part of the students' support circle. That is how that is how Community Learning Support LLC came about.
